Beacon Hill is one of Fort McMurray’s oldest communities, situated in the southwest. With a population of more than 2,000 (before the 2016 wildfire), it is easily accessible through the main highway, Highway 63. Beacon Hill is a quiet community that boasts generous green space and stunning walking trails. This peaceful neighbourhood offers plenty of affordable housing options, including manufactured homes, single family homes and townhouses.
The local residents enjoy playgrounds, tennis courts, a soccer field, and a baseball diamond. There are only two elementary schools located in Beacon Hill: Beacon Hill Public and Good Shepherd Elementary. Keyano College is about two kilometers to the north. Notably, the area is home to the Frank Lacroix arena.
