North of the Bridge in Fort McMurray

Information on North of the Bridge in Fort McMurray

Today, the majority of people live “north of the bridge”; that is, north of the three bridges that span the river Athabasca at the tip of Downtown Fort McMurray. Thickwood Boulevard (which becomes Confederation Way), loops off the highway and through the communities of Thickwood, Dickinsfield, Wood Buffalo, Timberlea, Eagle Ridge, and Stonecreek. Our newest subdivision of Parsons Creek can be found further north. In the centre of all of this, you will find our famous Birchwood Trails. Every housing type is available, and this part of town is full of schools, restaurants, shops, and amenities. The North has always been popular because of its proximity to the northern plant sites of Suncor, Syncrude, CNRL, etc.
