Townhomes, also known as townhouses, usually (but not always) have condo fees. They are similar to duplexes in that they share walls with other homes, but the significant difference is that there must be at least three (instead of two) homes to make up a bank of townhomes. In this way, townhome “end units” can feel very similar to duplexes. Townhomes are generally priced between apartments and duplexes, and offer families and investors many of the features of single family homes, but at a lower price point. Newer townhomes in Fort McMurray often don’t have private yards, but older ones do. Some condominium townhomes offer shared amenities like gyms, visitor parking and recreational areas.
