The store has a long list of items from suits to outerwear with brand names like Kenneth Cole and Samuelsohn.
According to a 2017 article in Your McMurray Magazine, the store was named after the founder Bob Barrett, who later sold it to his business partner Bob Carrothers 13 years ago. Carrothers kept its namesake to honour Barrett and its reputation:
Bob (Barrett) was really the one who started the store,” Carrothers stated in the magazine. “We developed a plan for me to eventually take over ownership, providing an opportunity for me professionally and for the store to continue filling the niche market of upper-end men’s apparel. https://yourmcmurraymagazine.comThe store first originated in the Peter Pond Mall and moved down the street to 10013 MacDonald Avenue shortly after opening. It can be found across the road from The Keg Steakhouse.
“Guys aren’t always comfortable in a shopping mall,” Carrothers also stated in the article. “In our location, we can provide an environment more conducive to an enjoyable and less rushed retail experience.”
Bob Barrett’s also provides additional in-store services including suit rentals, tailoring, and assistance with colour-coordinating and styling outfits.
The business strives in customer service by giving shoppers an experience. On Bizinga.com, the clothing store receives a 4.8 rating based on 45 reviews.
Local resident Shawn Chaulk, well-known as the “Wayne Gretzky of Wayne Gretzky collectors” thinks highly of the store:
Rene Wells has been a client with Bob Barrett’s for 11 years and wrote it “has been a mainstay in Fort McMurray for many years. The friendly, professional service provided by their sales associates is truly a cut above, matches only by superior quality of men’s apparel that they feature.”
With gala season now in full swing, the men’s clothing store is particularly busy this time of the year.
Last week, the city’s Amazing Race Canada stars Dylan Elias and Kwame Osei were spotted trying on suites for their upcoming gig as Master of Ceremonies for the 2018 Keyano College Gala, which takes place on November 3.
On the business Facebook page, they regularly offer styling tips on topics like pocket square folding and how to select a tie. For updates and announcements, stay locked on their social media and for more information, visit its website.
