Serving holistic healing in mind, body and spirit for over 30 years

LifeForce Herbal Healing Centre is a one-of-a-kind shop in the Wood Buffalo region and provides treatments for health and holistic services along with a long list of products and gifts focused on natural healing.

Located at 12-102 Signal Road, the store is placed on the corner of the Shopping Centre Plaza in Thickwood Heights. It’s surrounding retail neighbours include Shopper’s Drug Mart, Subway, Dairy Queen, Jomaa’s Pizza and Chicken, Edo Japan, Scotiabank and Petro-Canada. It’s the longest-standing vitamin and supplements store in the community.

According to LifeForce’s website, the local business first opened over three decades ago in 1985 by founder Jean Stuve. The shop originally started out as a bookstore and now has a wide variety of items available from gemstones and jewelry to chemical-free skin care and an aromatherapy line, which is made within the Centre.

Throughout the years, the Lifeforce legacy was carried on by Stuve’s daughter Kate and granddaughter Angela. Stuve passed away at age 80 on August 25, 2005.

Today, Kate is the store owner and also the on-location Iridologist. Angela works as the store’s Aromatherapist and Live Blood Analyst technician. The Live Blood Analyst available at the store further helps customers observe their blood cells, plasma and other details to determine the health in their blood and overall body.

As it’s tagged as “Fort McMurray’s own healthy living oasis”, the store further features a variety of other services including ion cleansing and Healing with Nora. Healing with Nora offers in-person psychic tarot card readings, chakra balancing, hypnotherapy and life coaching. (Appointments can be booked with LifeForce directly at 780-790-9155 or call her for a telephone reading at 780-721-8618.)

The store also offers a large selection of oils, supplements and vitamins. When purchasing vitamin and supplements, the staff help assist guests with information about the products.

LifeForce’s vision continues to create a place to offer “individual attention” to its customers from the knowledgeable staff as it “believes that healing needs to be well rounded” through body, mind and spirit.

“We are not just a vitamin store. We try to help people be well, in all ways – spiritually, physically and emotionally. We do our best to make your days and lives better,” Owner Kate Stuve said in a Discover Fort McMurray interview.

On Google reviews, LifeForce has an almost-perfect 5-star rating at 4.4.

One customer wrote, “I love the selection of crystals. The staff is very helpful.” Another was written by Tasha Ruskowsky, who has a Level 7 in Google review ranking, stating: “Always love going in this store. They have some wonderful stuff.”
