This Fort McMurray summer, there is always something exciting, intuitive, and adventurous for you, family, and friends to do or participate in. Why not check out some of these exciting events and activities over the next couple of weeks?

July 15th through 19th is another date to keep with The District Recording Studio as they will be holding their Lionheart Summer Camp 2.0:

Lionheart Summer Camp 2.0

The District Recording Studio, in partnership with Fort McMurray Public Schools Department, is holding the second in its series of Lionheart Creative and Performing Arts Camp. Campers learn to use creative and performing arts as a means of expressing themselves and affect their homes, communities, and environment positively. This is a 4-day camp event, starting from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th inclusive. It is taking place at The District Recording Studio in Fort McMurray Composite High School, from 8.30 am to 4 pm.

Campers get to choose electives, gain hands-on experience, participate in group discussion, and enjoy one-on-one mentoring from artists from The District Recording Studio. There will be tracks in voice, dance, drama, production, and technical arts, EDM and DJing, music production and songwriting, and many more. This Junior Camp (grades 1 to 6) will be held every day from Monday, July 15th through Friday, July 19th from 8.30am to 4 pm. There will be a camp showcase on Friday afternoon. Registration is $200 for the 4-day camp, and you can register and obtain tickets here.

This month’s Child Passenger Safety Information Session will be held on Thursday, July 18th, 2019, at the Shell Place:

Child Passenger Safety Information Session

The Safe Community Wood Buffalo presents its monthly information session to help parents and caregivers understand the legal and advisory safety requirements when carrying a child passenger in your car. Listen to experts teach, train, and answer your questions about your child safety as a car passenger in this FREE 2-hour session. Also, in addition to the knowledge you will receive, you will equally receive training in the resources needed to ensure the safety of your child passenger(s).

The Information Session will take place from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm. This month’s session is held in conjunction with Option 4 Program. If you have received a fine for child seat misuse, you can have that fine waived by attending this session, provided the conviction date on your ticket is at least two weeks ahead to allow for paperwork processing to waive the fine. Oranj Fitness holds its annual largest outdoor Yoga class simultaneously in Fort McMurray soon:

Largest Outdoor Yoga Class

The outdoor Yoga class held annual by Oranj Fitness is here again and is scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 21st, from 10 am to 11.30 am. This outdoor event attracts hundreds of new and experience Yoga participants annually. Last year, over 400 persons participated, and this year, Oranj Fitness is hoping to host at least 700 persons. The event is the largest fundraiser for Mats for Metta, a local Yoga, and fitness charity organization.

Listen to refeshing, live music from DJ Qpid while participating in exciting and energizing Yoga postures, breathing, and breathing exercises. A minimum donation of $20 is required for attendance. All mats and proceeds from the event are donated to local schools and charities to encourage and boost Yoga in the communities. This event will hold at the Shell Place Stadium at Macdonald Island Park on Sunday, July 21st from 10 am to 11.30 pm.
