Eagle Ridge Highlights: Banquet Bar & Grill

The newest entertainment facility to open in the Commons

The Banquet Bar & Grill has been the latest establishment to open in the Commons in Eagle Ridge – and just in time for summer.

The new pub held its grand opening on June 6 which allowed it to cash in on the beginning of summer celebrations like grad parties and end-of-school events.

Being the first establishment to bring back bowling to the community – after almost a decade of having no option, locals have been enthusiastic about taking on this missed-sport in their backyards.

But bowling isn’t their only game feature, inside the two-storey facility includes a Spin-to-Win wheel (like the one showcased on the Price is Right), shuffleboard, giant Rubix cube and Jenga.

The full-sized Spin-to-Win wheel is a fan-favourite. Every night guests enter into a draw box for a chance to spin the wheel. Participants have from 7:30 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. to fill out the ballot.

Every winning ballot claims a prize on the wheel, but the person who spins the highest number gets to choose the first prize.

The Banquet is recommended by 239 guests on its Facebook page. One guest highly-recommends the Banquet:

And another guest Malja Beauchamp was enthusiastic about the service writing her server Zoey was the “most amazing” one she ever had.

“She came and checked on our group every 10 minutes and brought our food and drinks out so quick compared to other places I’ve been at. She had an amazing attitude and was very personable with her customers.”

The food menu compares to the standard pub fare classics of pizza, wings and fries with many added extras like the Buffalo Mushroom Caps, the Big Banquet burger and Bacon Cheddar Perogies.

For kids aged 12 and under, it offers favourites like chicken fingers with fries and pepperoni pizza. The full menus, including the drinks, are available online. Guests can also order from home with SkipTheDishes.

When it comes to the entertainment, The Banquet keeps adding more incentives to its list like Music Poker Tuesday held every week at 8 p.m. Food and Drink specials during the event include $8.99 wings and $6.99 for 9oz glasses of wine on tap.

For full game instructions, check out the event posted on Facebook.

Located at 155 Eagle Ridge Boulevard, The Banquet is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. from Monday to Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Every day, guests 18 and under are welcome until 8 p.m.

It also has a roof-top patio. It’s unlike any other in the city and guests are now enjoying the summer sunsets in a way they haven’t experienced before in Fort McMurray.
