Beacon Hill is one of Fort McMurray’s oldest communities, situated in the southwest. With a population of more than 2,000 (before the 2016 wildfire), it is easily accessible through the main highway, Highway 63. Beacon Hill is a quiet community that boasts generous green space and stunning walking trails. This peaceful neighbourhood offers plenty of affordable housing options, including manufactured homes, single-family homes, and townhouses.
The local residents enjoy playgrounds, tennis courts, a soccer field, and a baseball diamond. There are only two elementary schools located in Beacon Hill: Beacon Hill Public and Good Shepherd Elementary. Keyano College is about two kilometers to the north. Notably, the area is home to the Frank Lacroix arena.
